Sending an MMS via the Tall Bob API

Tall Bobs APIs allow you to send outgoing MMS messages using several different Sender ids:

  • Alpha Numeric Sender ids
  • Virtual Numbers/Long Codes
  • Short Codes


Support for different Sender ids may differ based on geographical region

To send an MMS message you will need to know a few things and depending on the API endpoint you are using the format required for them may change slightly

This parameter identifies the phone number you want the outbound message delivered to, phone number should be formatted in the E.164 format which looks similar to +61400000000


The + is optional

From

The From parameter identifies who the message is being sent by, the From value can be

URL

The URL parameter includes file content attached to the MMS. The provided link must be a publicly accessible URL. The supported file formats are as below

Subject

This parameter includes the subject line for the MMS.

Body

This parameter includes the full text of the message you want to send and the maximum length of a message that can be sent via Tall Bob. 

MMS Message costs are charged based on the number of MMS Units used. 

Reference

This is an optional parameter that is used for your own internal tracking as a transaction reference.
